MEDIA results 1 - 10 for Pulmonary Hypertension

A number of studies have demonstrated that increased free radical activity plays an important role in all cases of high blood pressure, because increased free radicals cause cellular damage and inactivate nitric oxide. Nitric oxide, an important molecular regulator of blood pressure, helps control blood pressure by dilating blood vessels. Antioxidants, powerful free radical scavengers, may help restore activities of nitric oxide and help to control blood pressure. This is the main theoretical basis of HypertrilTM. In addition to antioxidant activities, Hypertril also provides essential nutrients to support blood pressure control and improve circulation. :In a study performed at the Institut de Cardiologie de Montreal, Canada, Hypertril demonstrated a significant reduction in MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure) and ventricular function. Amazingly, right ventricular weight/body weight ratio was also decreased. Hypertril treatment also significantly improved LVSP (Left Ventricular Systolic Pressure) and left ventricular relaxation as assessed by left ventricular end diastolic pressure (LVEDP) was also significantly reduced by Hypertril treatment. Hypertril reduction of LVEDP was associated with a decrease in lung weight/body weight ratio. Consistent with this latter result, right ventricular hypertrophy was also reduced with Hypertril therapy. Thus, Hypertril may be beneficial in the treatment of pulmonary hypertension via its therapeutic action on LVEDP.

Introducing Zona Plus...a safe, proven therapy to lower blood pressure recommended by doctors and reviewed in the Harvard Heart Letter! The Zona Plus has been cleared by the FDA, has no negative side effects and be used by multiple patients. EFFECTIVENESS: When used as directed, the Zona Plus reduces blood pressure in non-medicated patients from 5 mmHg to 55 mmHg, with an average drop of 25+ mmHg. Individuals who are taking medication see average drops of 19mmHg. More than 90% of people who use it are able to lower their blood pressure without medication. HOW TO USE THE ZONA PLUS: The therapy is simple. First, you squeeze as hard as you can for 1-2 seconds with your right hand, then with your left, each followed by 10 seconds of rest. Next you're directed through four 2-minute sessions, 2 with each hand, separated by 1-minute rest periods. And you just need to do 5 therapy sessions a week to see results. HOW THE ZONA PLUS WORKS: The Zona Plus changes how your body works from the inside out; people who use this therapy see blood pressure improvements that are 7 times better than with regular exercise and 2 to 3 times as effective as medication. There are two major measurable effects upon the body caused by Zona Plus therapy. One is improvement in endothelial dysfunction and the other is improved vagal function (a "relaxing" effect). The medical theory for how the isometric therapy devices lower blood pressure is that the combined effects of improved vagal (autonomic nervous system) function and improved endothelial function cause the blood vessels to strengthen, dilate, and become more flexible. These changes reduce resistance to blood flow and allow the heart to move blood through the body at a lower pressure. The two fold approach of combining a physiological change with an autonomic nervous system change produces additional benefits in lowered blood pressure for many people, when compared with a simple biofeedback device.
